Established in 1911 by Andrew Carnegie, the philanthropic foundation of Carnegie Corporation of New York acts directly on the promotion of knowledge and understanding on both national and international scope.
Carnegie dedicated his foundation to the goal of doing “real and permanent good in this world” and deemed that its efforts should create “ladders on which the aspiring can rise.”. This still remains the mission carried out to the present with all the programs and initiatives that address today’s problems by promoting on the best ideas that foment deep knowledge and scholarship that allows the persuasion of studies on key sectors of paramount importance such as: international peace, the advancement of education and knowledge, and the strength of our democracy.
